Acti Spa Chemicals FAQ

How often do I need to add chemicals to my hot tub water?

It depends on the size of tub, the chemicals that you are using and how often you use the tub. Read our blogs on hot tub chemicals and chemical dispensers for all the information and guidance you need.

When do I need to use chemical to restore the right pH for my water?

Part of your regular water testing routine includes checking the pH balance of your water. Too low and the water can give you itchy eyes and dry skin; too high and your water can become cloudy or foamy. Either way, and it can damage the components of your hot tub. Aim to keep the pH of your water between 7.2 and 7.8.

Do I need to use bromine or chlorine, granules or tablets?

Again, this is your choice. Both bromine and chlorine do the same job but there are certain factors you need to consider before making your choice. Please read our blogs on hot tub chemicals and chemical dispensers before you decide. You should also read our blog on shocking your hot tub for more information and guidance on maintaining a clean and healthy hot tub.
